Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small values a website can store in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar browser tools, but they are not sent with every website request in the way cookies can be.
GWIND uses a first-party cookie to remember your privacy choice. Browser storage also supports saved designs, enquiry drafts and optional browsing preferences. Essential storage for a feature you explicitly request is separate from optional tracking.
Your cookie choice
Optional categories start switched off. The banner lets you accept all, reject optional categories or choose Functional, Analytics and Marketing separately. You can reopen Cookie settings in the GWIND footer to change or withdraw your choice at any time.
The necessary gwind_consent_v1 cookie stores the categories you selected, the notice version and the time of your choice. It lasts up to 180 days. An expired, invalid or outdated choice is not accepted, and the banner asks again. If your browser prevents saving this cookie, a choice may apply only to the current visit.
A Global Privacy Control signal keeps Marketing off. Changing your preferences takes effect for future use; withdrawing permission does not undo information already sent while you had consented.
What the current website uses
Some items are created only when you choose to save something. Others help keep the website’s navigation and confirmation screens consistent.
| Feature | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Saved Studio design | Saves your configuration and any included artwork when you choose Save. | Until site data is cleared or removed by your browser. |
| Contact / RFQ draft | Saves form details, specifications, the current step and attachment names when you choose Save draft. Attachment files need to be added again. | Until site data is cleared or removed by your browser. |
| Studio guide preference | With Functional permission, remembers that you have dismissed the introductory guide. | Until permission is withdrawn, site data is cleared or your browser removes it. |
| Journal reading position | With Functional permission, helps restore your reading or list position while browsing the Journal. | Current browser session, or until Functional permission is withdrawn. |
| Homepage design state | With Functional permission, remembers an automatic in-session design. A build you explicitly choose to save is retained as a requested feature. | Automatic session data lasts for the browser session or until permission is withdrawn; requested saved builds remain until site data is cleared. |
| Enquiry confirmation | Shows whether a brief was prepared or a request was confirmed, and avoids repeating the same confirmation event in the browser. | Current browser session. Confirmation records are accepted for up to 24 hours. |
Browsers may restore session data when reopening a previous session. The exact duration can therefore depend on your browser settings.
Analytics and advertising
No live analytics or advertising service is connected in this preview. Google Consent Mode v2 defaults to denied for analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization. A reviewed Google Tag Manager container may load only after the relevant optional permission is given.
Analytics permission allows website measurement; Marketing covers advertising measurement, personalized advertising and related data sharing. Enquiry measurement events are added only with Analytics permission. Functional permission controls optional browsing memory and does not enable analytics or advertising.
Before a live provider is enabled, its cookies, purposes and durations must be disclosed here, and any applicable consent or certified CMP requirements must be checked. The current preference interface is not represented as a Google-certified CMP.
External services
A WhatsApp link opens an external service. WhatsApp may use its own cookies or storage when you visit it, subject to its own policies and your settings there.
Website hosting and resource providers may receive ordinary connection information when delivering pages, fonts or other resources. This is separate from the saved drafts described above.
How to manage saved data
- Save only when you want to: you can use the enquiry and design tools without choosing Save or Save draft.
- Remove site data: open your browser’s privacy or website settings, find this website and clear its stored data. This can remove drafts, saved designs and browsing preferences.
- Withdraw optional permission: use Cookie settings in the footer and select Reject All or turn categories off and save. The site removes its optional guide and reading memory, automatic homepage drafts and accessible known first-party Google cookies for the denied categories. Other providers’ or inaccessible cookies may need to be managed through browser controls.
- Keep a copy first: download any design or brief you want to retain before clearing data. Browser data removal does not delete files already downloaded to your device.
- Use your browser controls: storage restrictions or private browsing can prevent a draft from being saved or restored. A design on one device is not automatically available on another.
On shared devices, clear saved project data when you have finished. Closing a tab alone does not necessarily remove local storage.
