What does K mean?
K describes the filament count in a fiber bundle: 3K means 3,000, 12K means 12,000, and 24K means 24,000. UD uses fibers aligned in one direction.
THE GWIND SPECIFICATION GUIDE
Choose the appearance. Define the construction behind it.
A clearer specification starts with the details.
A carbon-composite stick uses carbon fibers within a resin system. Fibers can be aligned in one direction or woven into a fabric. The visible outer pattern is one part of a larger laminate that forms the shaft and blade.
UD means unidirectional. In a fiber-bundle label, K indicates thousands of filaments: 3K means 3,000 and 12K means 12,000. That count does not, by itself, describe the complete laminate or certify its performance.
Fiber orientation, material selection, resin and layer arrangement work together to define the structure. The visible weave alone cannot establish a stick’s finished weight, stiffness, strength or durability.
Use the GWIND samples below to describe the appearance you prefer, then specify your construction needs separately. Keep your requested flex, weight target and finished length in the same brief, and check the sample against the agreed requirements.

Weave appearance is one part of the specification. Discuss your requested weight, flex and construction with GWIND rather than choosing by the K label alone.
Unidirectional fibers with a clean, unwoven appearance.
Fine grid detail with a compact woven appearance.
A woven finish using 12,000-filament fiber bundles.
A diagonal grid appearance in the 12K weave family.
A woven finish using 15,000-filament fiber bundles.
A woven finish using 18,000-filament fiber bundles.

Build details and availability are confirmed with GWIND for your project.
DISCUSS YOUR SPECSCARBON FIBER / QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Common questions about carbon fiber, before you settle on your specification.
ASK GWINDNo. K describes the number of filaments in a bundle, not an overall quality score. Compare the agreed laminate, materials and sample results rather than ranking sticks by the visible K label.
UD fibers run in one direction within a layer; a woven fabric interlaces bundles. The outer appearance may show that difference, but a finished stick can contain several layer types and orientations beneath the surface.
No. The preview helps communicate the carbon appearance. Confirm the actual material and construction separately with GWIND, especially when your request includes a specific weight, flex or inspection requirement.
Put both preferences in your request. The available construction and final combination need confirmation. Agree how the finished sample will be measured rather than treating a visual option as a weight guarantee.
