THE GWIND SPECIFICATION GUIDE
Start with natural control. Confirm the hands behind the label.
A clearer specification starts with the details.
For a player stick, left or right refers to the shooting setup. A left-handed setup places the left hand lower on the shaft and the right hand at the top; a right-handed setup reverses those positions.
Goalie terminology also involves the catching glove and blocker. Confirm which hand holds the stick and blocker, rather than relying on the word “left” or “right” alone. The diagrams below show the four GWIND reference setups.
Player side determines the orientation of your blade and the hand arrangement used for passing, shooting and control. Everyday writing handedness does not settle the choice; start by holding and moving a stick naturally.
Try both arrangements if you are new to the game. Compare puck handling, passing and a few controlled shots. Once you know your comfortable side, choose the corresponding curve orientation and include the hand positions in your order notes.
Select the side that feels natural for control, shooting and comfort. The top hand directs the stick; the lower hand adds force and support.

Right hand at the top; left hand lower. Compare this setup with the opposite side for comfort and control.

Left hand at the top; right hand lower. Compare this setup with the opposite side for comfort and control.

Right hand holds stick and blocker; left glove catches. This setup is also called regular.

Left hand holds stick and blocker; right glove catches. Also called “full right.”
Your chosen side should feel instinctive and controlled.

DISCUSS YOUR SPECSPLAYER SIDE / QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Common questions about player side, before you settle on your specification.
ASK GWINDNot necessarily. Writing handedness does not determine shooting side. Try both setups and compare control and comfort. A left-handed player setup has the right hand at the top and the left hand lower.
The left hand is at the top of the shaft and the right hand is lower. Include these positions with your requested side if you are unsure about a retailer’s naming convention.
Regular uses the right hand for the stick and blocker and the left for the catching glove. Full right reverses that arrangement. Confirm both glove and stick hands when preparing a goalie specification.
That does not provide the corresponding forehand curve. Choose the intended left or right orientation and confirm the requested pattern is available for that side before approving your GWIND build.
